Delhi University improves in QS World Sustainability Rankings 2026

• Delhi University has improved its position to 241st globally in the QS World Sustainability Rankings, from 299th earlier.
• The University of Delhi has improved its ranking to 241st globally in the QS World University Rankings for Sustainability 2026. Last year, DU was ranked 299th, an improvement of 58 places.

The number of universities participating in the ranking has increased from 1744 last year to 2002 this time. The university which has improved its position this year is.

DU Vice Chancellor Prof Yogesh Singh said that this improvement in ranking has placed DU among the top four institutions in India and top 36 institutions in Asia.

DU is the only university among the top 5 institutions in India in this ranking group to have improved its position this year.

DU made strong gains in three key categories: environmental impact, social impact, and governance.

In environmental impact, DU has improved its global ranking by 89 places, moving from 244 to 155. In social impact, DU has improved its global ranking by 43 places, moving from 478 to 435.

DU’s global ranking in governance has improved by 31 places from 218 to 187. DU’s governance score is number one in India.

DU’s Asia rank in Governance has improved from 42 to 9.

Comparing DU’s overall score with Indian institutions, including the IITs, DU’s overall score has improved from 72.2 to 80.9, one of the biggest improvements among premier Indian institutions.
